Outdoor Activity Instructor/Crew (Zipline)

Casual role, from mid-Dec 22 – late Jan 23. Average shifts will be between 4.5 – 8 hours. Hours of operation can be from 9am – 9pm. The role is classified under the Amusement, Events & Recreation Award.

DISPATCH/DISCOUNT CREW*

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience of challenge ropes courses (experience with flying foxes/ziplines desirable) with dispatch & dismount duties of a flying fox/zipline operation
  • One of the following qualifications
    • Qualification in conduct, supervise or manage a high ropes course.
    • IRATA level 1,2 or 3
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Ability to clearly communicate safety and technical information to customers

Duties:

  • Harnessing and safety briefing
  • Dispatching and dismounting participants on and off the ziplines.
  • Monitoring equipment and escalation of any concerns or issues to Chief Safety Officer
  • Relaying harnesses/helmets and pulleys from the landing to the take-off platforms when required
  • Supporting the Runners/Harnessing Crew when required
  • Ensuring the customers are comfortable and at ease
  • Providing enthusiastic and welcoming customers experiences

*Senior Platform Crew will be determined through the onboarding process and will have responsibilities including inspections, rescues and supervising/training.

Front of House Crew/Customer Service

FOH/CUSTOMER SERVICE CREW

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Experience in a Customer Service/FOH/Ticket Sales role (preferably within outdoor adventure, or indoor recreation activities)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Ability to clearly communicate information to customers
  • Ensuring the customers are comfortable and at ease
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills, with a proven record of sales

Duties:

  • Greeting customers, checking them in and ensuring they have completed their waivers.
  • Checking that the customers meet all the conditions of entry, including weighing the customers (ensuring the customer feels comfortable throughout this process)
  • Providing information to customers making enquiries in person, over the phone or via email
  • Taking bookings for walk-ins, and ensuring all information is obtained
  • Proactively selling merchandise
  • Assisting customers with sorting their belongings
  • Directing customers and assisting them with wayfinding
  • Providing enthusiastic and welcoming customers experiences
  • Assisting the Harnessing/Runners crew when required

Runner/Harnessing Crew

RUNNERS/HARNESSING CREW

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Experience of challenge ropes courses (desirable)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Ability to clearly communicate safety and technical information to customers
  • Ensuring the customers are comfortable and at ease
  • General level of fitness as the role will require crossing Princes Bridge transporting gear multiple times per shift

Duties:

  • Harnessing customers
  • Providing clear, concise yet comprehensive safety briefings
  • Assisting customers with sorting their belongings
  • Ensuring that customers have appropriately attired, and do not have any loose clothing or belongings before proceeding to the take-off platform
  • Checking the gear upon return and escalating any concerns or issues to Chief Safety Officer
  • Relaying harnesses/helmets and pulleys from the landing to the take-off platforms
  • Ensuring the customers are comfortable and at ease
  • Providing enthusiastic and welcoming customers experiences
  • Assisting the FOH crew when required
